FAQ
How does the OneUp Carbon Handlebar compare to other carbon handlebars on the market in terms of comfort and responsiveness?
We have bench marked our OneUp Carbon Handlebar against the most popular carbon bars on the market and the results were a 21% increase in vertical compliance (comfort) coupled with a 28% increase in steering stiffness (responsiveness). These are more than just marginal gains and make the OneUp Carbon Handlebar one of the most comfortable and responsive bars on the market.
What are the dimensions of the OneUp Carbon Handlebar?
The OneUp Carbon Handlebar has a geometry of 800mm wide with a 35mm diameter and a sweep of 8° back and 5° up.
How much does the OneUp Carbon Handlebar weigh?
The OneUp Carbon Handlebar weighs 220g for the 20mm rise option and 225g for the 35mm rise option.
How does the OneUp Carbon Handlebar minimize arm pump and vibration?
The OneUp Carbon Handlebar minimizes arm pump and vibration with its patent pending oval shape which combines the best ride characteristics of 31.8mm and 35mm bar standards into one package. This shape maximizes steering response while minimizing arm pump and vibration.
How does the OneUp Carbon Handlebar help decrease hand pain when riding mountain bikes?
The OneUp Carbon Handlebar minimizes hand pain by providing a more comfortable and compliant ride. The bar's patent pending oval shape combines the best ride characteristics of 31.8mm and 35mm bar standards into one package, maximizing steering response while minimizing arm pump and vibration. This leads to less fatigue and hand pain during long rides.
How short can I cut these bars down?
Our bars can be cut down to a minimum of 740mm. Any further you risk clamping your controls onto the ovalized flex zone of the bar. Doing so could compromise the integrity of the bar.
What do the numbers on the bar mean? How do I set the bar roll correctly?
Our Carbon bars have degrees lasered into the stem clamp profile. These are designed to correspond with the headangle of your bike to create a neutral starting point for bar roll. Line the corresponding marking up with the front edge of the stem body and tighten the face plates. Once that neutral starting point has been set, adjust the bar roll to your personal preference.
Do the decals come pre-installed?
The decals do not come installed. They are shipped on two sheets with a few other decal options for you. The lasered Gloss black "ONE" logo on the bars is a guide to help you position the colors decal kit.
Can these bars be used on a regular bike?
Yes, they are fully DH rated and can be run on any bicycle.
My SRAM brake levers are spinning at the max torque spec?
SRAM MMX clamps do have a tendency to point load which allows them to slip on bars easily. Double check that the brake lever is sitting nicely within the clamp before torquing it down.
Are the cable ports compatible with my Specialized?
Specialized wiring is too large in diameter to fit our E-bars wire ports. You can still use our E-bar, but you will not be able to internally route the wires.
What is the torque spec on these bars?
Max torque specs for our carbon bars is 6Nm for the stem clamp and 5Nm for the controls (brakes, shifter, grips). Grips with a single outer clamp are also not compatible with our carbon bars.
If I cut my bars down, will I lose the compliance benefits?
As you reduce the length of the bar, the compliance will also reduce slightly. But keep in mind that a OneUp bar cut down to 740mm will still have more compliance compared to another 740mm bar.
